• Visit SBA's Answer Desk, which provides national assistance.
   
• If you live in a state other than New York, there are Small Business Development Centers in your area. Find your state's center.
   
• If you're looking to obtain a loan, we recommend reviewing SBA's Loan Programs, and then contacting your nearest SBDC to prepare your business plan.
   
• If you are interested in finding grants, check out either the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance or GrantsWeb. However, if you're in business for a profit, you'll find that you don't qualify for the vast majority of available funds.
   
• If your business is in New York and you want to register as a minority- or woman-owned business, go to the Minority and Women Owned Business Services at Empire State Development's site.
